Three for Free: CrazyControl 2, Skillz for iPad and Recipes Genius Posted: 30 Nov 2011 12:16 PM PST Ready for more freebies? Here are today's featured 3 "Apps Gone Free": CrazyControl 2 - A side scroller that lives up to its name. Controlling 2 characters at once, the screen is split top-bottom and you must jump, slide, defend and fight your way through 60 levels of mayhem. As if that wasn’t challenging enough, the difficulty ramps up gradually – by the final stage, you’ll be controlling 6 simultaneously. The iPad Version is also free for a limited time. Skillz for iPad - A great musical rhythm game that plays like Guitar Hero, Skillz for iPad lets you put your DJ skills to the test. Using dual turntables, you mix and scratch through 20+ remixes of dance tracks from world-renowned artists, including Diplo, Kid Cudii and others. If you have an iPad and enjoy rhythm games, this is one you don’t want to miss (Skillz is normally $5.99). Check out the trailer here. Recipes Genius - Impress your better half with Recipes Genius, now free until Dec 5th (was $4.99). The app includes 485 recipes with step-by-step instructions, 3,500+ hi-res images, info on calories per person and time required to prepare, ingredients/shopping lists and more. If you enjoy cooking (or want to learn some new recipes), you can’t go wrong with this freebie offer. These Freebies won’t last long, so be sure to grab 'em pronto! Infinity Blade 2 lands in New Zealand App Store, US release later tonight Posted: 30 Nov 2011 10:47 AM PST The most anticipated iOS game of the year is finally here. The sequel to Infinity Blade (TMA Review), one of the most visually stunning and fastest-grossing apps ever on the iOS platform ($1.6 million in just 4 days) was released earlier today in the New Zealand App Store. Expect even better graphics, more weapons and customizations and 40 new locations.
The game will still run fine on slightly older iDevices, like the iPhone 3GS/4, iPad 1, and iPod Touch 3rd/4th gen, though iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners will be able to play the game in its full optimized glory thanks to the power of the A5 chip. Infinity Blade 2 will sell for $9.99 and be available in US/Canadian App Stores later tonight, when the clock strikes 12 (Dec 1st release). The iTunes page for the New Zealand store is now live, however. If you haven’t already done so, check out the promo videos for IB2 after the break. MarkdownMail app updates to version 3.0 Posted: 30 Nov 2011 09:23 AM PST For those of you who use MarkdownMail, the app has just been updated to 3.0 with some handy new features and changes:
If you’re not familiar with MarkdownMail, it’s a great little app that lets you compose and send emails in HTML. Based on John Gruber’s Markdown markup syntax, you can send emails with different headers, bold text, italics, bulleted lists and much more. Looking at the above iTunes screenshots, the left one has the Markup syntax, and the right is what the receiving end will actually see (an html email). MarkdownMail sells for $2.99 and works on both the iPhone and iPad. Second Gear, MarkdownMail – Send HTML Email, – $2.99 (...) © louis for TouchMyApps, 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us |
iFixit selling Transparent Rear Panel for iPhone 4S Posted: 30 Nov 2011 08:41 AM PST Fixit, known for their gadget teardowns, has begun selling Transparent Rear Panels for your iPhone 4S. Why would you want to replace the glass-back of your iPhone and expose its innards for all to see, you ask? Well because you can! Installation is extremely easy, and all you need is a Pentalobe P2 screwdriver. Price? $29.99 a pop. If you’re interested in one of these mods, you will have to wait a bit as they’re currently sold out. The good news though is that iFixit is making more as fast as they can, and you can leave your email via the “Notify Me” button to get notification once it becomes available again. For iPhone 4 owners (GSM/AT&T), the rear panels have been out for a good 6 months now, and also go for $29.99. If a see through rear doesn’t quite turn you on, check out Material6′s fine wooden panel replacement. iFixit’s install video after the break.
