Tonara, one of the most innovative music related apps I’ve come across in the App Store, has added a good number of Christmas carols to its built-in music store. Released a few months ago, Tonara is the world’s first interactive music sheet application. As you play, the app follows along your exact position on screen, even turning pages for you. Any acoustic or electronic instrument can be used – your own voice included. So how does it work? From Tonara’s FAQ section:

Rockstar Games announced earlier today that the Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition port will be released on select iDevices and Android phones on December 15th. Ten years after its original release, a whole new generation of gamers who missed out on this iconic Rockstar title can finally play it on their mobile phones. Thankfully, it’ll be compatible with single core iPhones and iPads, so even those without an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 can still run the game on their devices. The launch price is set at $4.99, which is certainly on the reasonable side. Check out the list of supported phones/tablets below, along with the intro trailer and screenshots.

I Am T-Pain 2.0 - From Smule, the makers of Magic Piano and MadPad, lets you sound like the maestro himself as you sing into the mic. The app includes 9 free tracks with scrolling lyrics for you to sing-along, and additional songs can be purchased fro $0.99 a pop. After you’ve created that masterpiece, you can share it with the rest of the world via email, Facebook, or Twitter. Check out our review of I Am T-Pain here.
ILLUSIA (TMA Review) – Another RPG from Gamevil (Zenonia and HYBRID: Eternal Whisper), Illusia is billed as a platform action RPG presented in anime style graphics. Play as a fighter or mage and rely on various active, passive and buff skills. Like many iOS games nowadays, you can also purchase potions and various items via IAPs.
Ninja Pong - A simple yet addictive casual game that brings together the gameplay of ‘pong’ and deadly ninjas. Similar to breakout style games, you must slide a hovering paddle left/right to ensure that the ninjas make their way across from one platform to another safely. 2 game modes, retina graphics and unlockable content are some of the features of Ninja Pong. The HD version for the iPad is also free for a limited time.

If this is indicative of what the next few weeks leading up to Christmas are going to be like then you'd better strap yourselves in and prepare for a crazy ride! On a normal good week I might build a list of between 25 and 30 games to whittle down for my final list of 10, but this week I had almost 60 games! Naturally everyone's excited about Infinity Blade II, the successor to one of the most successful RPGs to grace the iOS screen. If you like your monster slaying action a little more lighthearted you might consider The Bard's Tale, a 21st century re-imagining of one of the great RPG series that I grew up with in the 80s. Players eager for a Kinect like experience but not wishing to buy an Xbox will want to look into Fuego's River Adventure, a hands-free game that uses your iPad's camera (requires an iPad 2) to track your movements and manipulate your character accordingly. On the other hand, if accessories are your thing you might consider appBlaster Overkill, a newly released version of the shooter Overkill that requires the new appBlaster gun peripheral in order to provide a more visceral shooting experience.
