Sparrow receives first update, Push coming soon

Sparrow, hands down the best mail client for the iPhone, has just been updated to version 1.1. New are its Send & Archive feature, a built in browser, dock badge for accounts and ability to show/hide folders and labels. But what’s even more encouraging is that the Sparrow team have announced that “Push is coming. With or without Apple.”:

Thanks to your amazing support, we feel confident that Apple might revise its position on the Push API. We'll submit a first version of Sparrow 1.2 including it. This might delay Sparrow 1.2 validation but we're already working with some partners to include Push in future versions of Sparrow without needing Apple clearance.

Dropbox now offers 500MB for every referral

For all you Dropbox users, every referral you make will now net you an extra 500MB (up from 250MB) of storage space. From the Dropbox blog:

Today, we're really happy to announce that we've doubled the amount of free space you get for inviting friends to Dropbox!

How much space is that, exactly? For every friend you invite that installs Dropbox, you'll both get 500 MB of free space. If you've got a free account, you can invite up to 32 people for a whopping total of 16 GB of extra space. Pro accounts now earn 1 GB per referral, for a total of 32 GB of extra space. Have you already invited a bunch of people? Don't worry. Within a few days, you'll get full credit for every referral that's already been completed. Boom!

The best part about this increase in free space is that all existing referrals you’ve already made will also count. So if you previously had 6GB of space on your free account, you should now have 12GB for storing ebooks and other documents.

10 New App Store Games To Watch [March 26 - April 1]

It took them a while, but Namco came up with yet another way to abuse the Pac-Man property, and Pac-Mangames is the most interesting attempt yet in my opinion.  They took several of their popular classics and created quick play, "rack up the score" versions of them, and then wrapped them all up in an odd avatar system.  If Pac-Mangames sounds like a bit of a stretch you can always try your hand at Pocket Law Firm, a new time management system that not only could be fun but might just teach you something about the constitution as well.  Just don't tell your friends you're actually learning with your iPad.  If you just can't get enough of Hollywood retreads there's Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures, the video game tie-in for one of two Snow White films coming out this year.  To its credit the game looks pretty sharp, and there are even a couple of places where it looks to break the mold of most runner type games, so hopefully it won't suffer the fate of most movie based games.
