Not all iOS 6 features compatible with older iDevices Posted: 13 Jun 2012 09:20 AM PDT So you’re probably excited about some of the new features of iOS 6, but did you know that not all are available to older iDevices? On the official iOS 6 landing page (the footnotes to more specific), Apple has listed which features require specific devices. For instance, FaceTime over 3G/4G will only work on the iPhone 4S and new iPad, and the highly anticipated Flyover and turn-by-turn GPS will be found only only the 4S and iPad 2/3. And sadly for iPad 2 owners, Siri will only be making its way to the latest (2012) iPad. Thankfully though for Facebook fantatics, FB integration doesn’t appear to have any limitations in regards to hardware. Apple posts video highlighting new features of OS X Mountain Lion Posted: 13 Jun 2012 08:24 AM PDT Apple first released the Mountain Lion developer preview back in February, and during the recent keynote, more details about the upcoming OS were revealed. Aside from the iOS features that it’ll be getting (Reminders, Notes, iCloud, Notifications, Messages etc.), Mountain Lion will also have Facebook integration, Dictation, Sharing and the nifty Power Nap – where the Mac is able to stay up-to-date even when it’s in sleep mode. The complete list of over 200 new features can be found on Apple’s webpage here. Mountain Lion will be coming to the Mac App Store in July for only $19.99, which is a complete bargain for the upgrade. “Every Dimension”: Retina Macbook Pro TV Commercial Posted: 13 Jun 2012 07:23 AM PDT Apple has released a new TV ad – “Every Dimension” – showcasing the Macbook Pro with Retina display that was unveiled at the WWDC keynote 2 days ago. While we’ve seen a great number of Apple commercials for iDevices and iOS in the recent past, it’s been a few years since Apple have released any that feature their Mac products. The base model of the new Macbook Pro will set you back $2199, but it does come packed with a retina display (2880-by-1800 resolution), 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
